Affiliate disclosure
The short version: some links on this site may earn us a small commission if you buy something, at no extra cost to you. That money never changes a quote grade, a price range or anything else in our data. Last updated October 21, 2026.
Right now
There are no affiliate links live on this site right now. We're publishing this page ahead of time so the rules are clear before any appear.
How affiliate links work
An affiliate link is a link to a store or service that pays us a commission if you buy through it. You pay the same price you would anyway; the store pays us, not you. We only use affiliate links for products that are relevant to the guide they appear in, like replacement filters in a guide about furnaces.
How they're labeled
Every affiliate link is marked "Affiliate link" right next to it, with a link back to this page. Affiliate buttons say so directly under the button. Affiliate links open in a new tab and are tagged as sponsored for search engines. A link without that label is not an affiliate link.
What affiliate links never affect
Quote grades, price ranges, medians and our cost pages come only from quotes homeowners submit (after review) and the public sources we cite. No partner pays to be included, to change a number, or to appear in a grade or report. We don't share your quotes, your email or anything you submit with affiliate partners.
What we record
If you tap an affiliate link, our own cookieless analytics may note that a link for that partner was tapped and on which page, so we can tell whether these links are useful. See the privacy page. The store you land on has its own privacy policy and may use cookies to credit the referral.
